POSITION: SALES MANAGER
LOCATION: WOKINGHAM
WAGE: £40k - £60k basic, uncapped commission
The Role
My client is an international leader in IT Training solutions. This role is to manage and lead one of this businesses sales teams, including responsibility for all revenue generating activities, account responsibility and organisational responsibility for the CRM's and Internal Account Managers in the team.
Key Objectives of the positions:
- Achieve the revenue targets as agreed in the Sales Plan.
- Lead, manage and develop a highly motivated and successful team, among others through the deployment of the relevant sales management processes (forecast, reviews etc).
- Establish, monitor and manage the team against a set of defined targets in terms of activity and revenue targets, ensuring we applaud top performers and critically manage underperformers.
- Contribute significantly to the overall growth and development of the business by engaging with and work constructively alongside peers on the Management team.
Areas of Responsibility
- Select and staff all Sales positions in the team.
- Manage sales employee's performance and career development.
- Build, develop and maintain a strong team culture.
- Identify market opportunities and ensure that the appropriate sales teams are focussed on these areas.
- Work closely with Marketing and contribute to the development of new campaigns and initiatives.
- Proactively engage with major customers to support the sales team in their efforts and demonstrate this clients commitment to these customers.
- Performing regular review discussions with all sales staff in the team related to their performance, historically and going forward.
- Ensure direct reports have stretching and achievable targets and drive them to ensure that a high degree of planning goes into the achieving of those targets.
- Maintain high involvement in recruiting world class sales people.
- Establish good working relationships with other functional groups in the organisation and minimise boundary disputes.
- Manage and control levels of discounts offered to customers in line with their spend levels
- Provide timely reporting and forecasting to Sales Director
Job Related Skills and Experience
- Proven experience in a Sales Management role for a large training organisation.
- Customer focused.
- A hands-on manager with a high activity level that is motivated and driven by working direct with the sales team members to improve daily performance.
- Must have superior interpersonal and communication skills with an emphasis for tact and is a well-organised person with proven ability to work with little supervision in a service-orientated environment.
- Must have the ability to work under pressure, to handle interruptions and to manage multiple requests for time.
- Sound judgement and decision making capabilities.
